About Me

.... Well... let me see.... I started this website because when my mother first got cancer, I was so stressed couldn't find information. In my correspondence with people who have loved ones with cancer and I have found that they also have needed information. I wanted everything in an easy to use and convenient place.

When I faced mother's diagnosis... terminal... I tried to find stories that would help me prepare for what would lay ahead, but only found survivors stories. That is why the stories are included.

I was blessed to have a circle of efriends who helped me by sharing their experiences... and support. It helped not to be alone. I found that at most sites, it just did not feel right to talk about end of life issues when so many people were coming to find hope... so I offered my email... and found others didn't want to talk on an open forum either. Within a short time I had over 103 people on my “cancer friends” email list (of these 60 have had loved ones die from lung cancer. Some people write often, some we only "talk" a few times, others have become dear friends...and I am thankful that I have met each one of them.

Blessings in my life include being married to a wonderful man, Craig,, our children, two girls, Heather and Michelle , and two boys, Daniel and Erik and our two grandsons, Dakotah and Dylan , our new granddaughter, Zoey . (When I made the site)

Here are a few of the things I have done/been: an office manager; a overhead door sales representative; a room mother for 15 years; a La Leche League Leader for 16 years; Campfire Leader; substitute teacher; Children’s Department Director, Nursery Director and Trustee at my church (thank goodness, not at the same time!). I sang in the church choir. I also love to arrange flowers and paint. I love learning about the computer and all that it can do and hope to do some graphic design someday. I just finished a online course in html and have been enjoying writing my web pages, making images, backgrounds and such for these pages.

Southeast Texas is where I call home.

Please feel free to contact me (please put cancer in the subject line of your email)...just to "talk" or
if you have an idea or story that I could use at the site.

Always,
Christine

Update 8-2011,

Now, my site has moved to, CDL WebDesign. I have my own website design company and hosting company for almost 3 years now, it has kept me really busy and I love it, it is nice to work from home in my pjs like I am doing as I write this.

My Daughter Michelle &Robhave added to the family , Zoey , Ben and Austyn Rose. My son Daniel has married and we have added a daughter Brittani to the family! Erik is a grown MAN and out of our home, working 7 on and 7 off on a harbor tug, but lives next door! We have added 2 more dogs to the family, Bolt our "horse" a "labra-pitt" mix, and Jake a dachshund, for a total of four dogs and one cat.

My family, pets and work keep me busy as well as assorted mishaps and illness I seem to find more often as I near those 60's ... 59 now... Craig and I are still happily married 32 yrs now.

I have just made minor revisions to this this site (decided to leave the navigation like I set up when I just learned to write code), I have just removed links that do not work, I still will add stories of loved ones, and correspond with you if you are dealing with cancer. Over the years I still have such positive feedback  from all over the world, I never dreamed that this site would touch so many lives.

Sincerely,

Christine Luce
